Earthdawn Social Media

Our beloved game is finding its way out into the social media sphere, and I love it. This thread will serve as an update list and "Water cooler" talk about all the various Earthdawn podcasts, blogs, etc. I think there were another few threads out there, but let's collect them into one topic. 8-)

Most recently, Mataxes was on Twitch.TV alongside long-time Earthdawn GM JackLifear:
https://www.twitch.tv/videos/150754784

The feed actually starts at about 25:00. They just started, @ 32:00, talking about how Mataxes' first Earthdawn experience was the novel "The Longing Ring". I think that was my second (a friend who had GM'd a session threw the book at me :) ). I have just gone back and purchased The Longing Ring from the webstore (http://fasagames.com/catalog/index.php? ... th=1_89_90), and am re-reading it. I actually have a physical copy of the 2nd, Mother Speaks, on my shelf but haven't read it in forever. I forgot how good this book was! Author Christopher Kubasik has a current RPG focused blog over here: https://talestoastound.wordpress.com/

The other two podcasts that I am following are Live From Barsaive, from Lava Monkey Games: https://lavamonkeygames.com/livefrombarsaive/

And Legends of Earthdawn: http://legendsofearthdawn.com

Both have a few episodes out so far and each podcast has a different take on it - with the Legends "pre-casts" focusing on an overview of the rules first, then setting, to give the audience context for the later "actual play" episodes (new one out today!). Live from Barsaive is not an actual-play cast, but a great show going more in depth into the setting and the hosts background with the game. They have been going on a "tour of Barsaive" and then recently have a few episodes going over rules and game concepts.

I will try to keep this thread up to date with new things that I run across. Feel free to do the same. :)

Another Earthdawn actual play comes from the RPG Squad, hosted by Unlucky Desperado on YouTube. They've got quite the series going, with almost 90 episodes currently in the can.

Here's a link to the playlist:

I was listening to the latest episode of "Legends of Earthdawn" today. Oh man, that was fun.

My semi-reckless use of "Experience Death", sending Needles the windling back to town which resulted in the decision to seal us in the kaer for three days. Phaendar trying to understand how everything seems to be spiraling out of control. Scratch throwing out random stories about great ork heroes of the past.

One of the problems in these early episodes is the size of the cast. We had... eight or nine player characters at this point? It can be hard to keep track of everyone, and when debates and discussions come up it can take a long time to sort them out.

I think in either the next episode, or the one after that, the group splits up, and each has their own storyline in the kaer. I'm curious to see how that shapes up in terms of presentation. I'm also curious what happens to the other group -- because outside of knowing **SPOILER**SPOILER**, I have no clue.

Outside of a dog, a book is a man's best friend. Inside of a dog it's too dark to read.

From the Discord Chat:
JGrayGaming - Today at 10:53 AM
Christmas in July has started on DriveThruRPG. Which means FASA books are probably now 25% off!
