**As the magic flows across the page the words come into view**
The town of Synevir has started to grow rapidly and has been an epicentre of spiritual activity. One of the resident adepts had requested aid, the original aid request resulted in the discover of a new faction with Barsaive.
Faction: Synevir
Brief: Frontier town on western fringes of Servos
Status: Growing - heavy spirit activity
Notable Actors:
Lonesome Keryn, Wander, Elf Spirit Rider
Faction: The Scourge
Brief: Doomsday cult looking to restart the Scourge
Status: unknown size, sharing of information and resources regularly
Notable Actors:
Magvan the Unclean, Dwarven Shaman
After Action Report: The town of Synevir has had adepts negotiate agreement with spirits for the protection of the townspeople and their herds. Further spirits have been encountered in the area, requesting assistance to purify a local tainted watering hole. Adepts from the village investigated, were ambushed by Felux and Manticore seemingly under the control of someone or something. Discovered dwarven shaman at the watering hole performing some ritual. Was attended by large espagra and strange triplet beings. Adepts dealt with threat and began purification of pond. Shaman was a part of cult going by The Scourge. Triplet beings were apparently the experiment of another member, while a third member provided the corpse of a horror to be used in the corruption of the water source.
Synevir village appears to be naturally attracting spirit attuned adepts due to high spiritual activity in the area. Location is favourable for outpost to monitor potential threats from the west. Community based businesses in need of new owner/operators, ideal for information collection and cultivation of sympathy to causes.
Potential Assessment: Very High
Reporting Agent: Bearded Dragon

Greetings my loving and attentive family,
I am writing to you after returning from my latest adventure with excitement in my heart and pride in my soul. I was requested by Langren (A.W.E) to help him round up some Dyres for his village. This is the same village I had my vision, so you know that I had to go. If only hoping to maybe see another vision. On my travels, I met up with big brother Norg, my fire breathing friend Moe, and Daldorer my face removing obsidiperson friend. Langren gave us his best “warming” greeting that only Langren can give when we arrived. He then told us that the reason for our attendance was to help find out why people are getting hurt and the Dires are spooked. Some sort of cat thingy causing issues.
Not long after we got settled, we noticed that the people in the village were getting kind of excited. When asked they told us that they were expecting a man by the name of Lonesome Keryn. They told us that Lonesome Keryn was a traveller and would pop by once in a while and tell the most interesting stories. They did warn us that he might be a little crazy. Well, that was even better. Those are the best storytellers. After a quick introduction, I now know why the villagers think he’s not all there in the head. He speaks to this invisible thing he calls “Smoke”. Now I have seen (or not seen) my fair share of things that are invisible and then “BLAM” they materialize in your face! So when he says that he has a friend he speaks to and I can not see him then I say “Yes sir, I believe you and please tell Smoke that he is just fine where he is”.
We later on decided that Lonesome Keryn and Smoke would go and adventure out to see why the Dyres were so jumpy, while our group was to go find out what was going on with this cat thing. Great more cats. I am definitely a Foxil person, not a cat person. So off we went with a goat herder toward where they thought there were the issues. Please don’t ask me where we went cause at this point in our journey it is all looking the same to me. Same rock formation, same tree’s… I swear it was like Déjà vu . We stopped at this familiar location and for some reason, Langren started talking to himself. We both know that when Langren starts talking to himself he really is talking to some sort of spirit. Just my luck right. While speaking to something out of nowhere he summoned his spirit beasty thing. I do not know where he summoned this beast but it looks like it needed to go back to where it came from cause boy was it sickly and scary. Not long after that he sent it away and brought out another spirit and then this cat/bird spirit materialized. So enough was enough they could talk all they want but there was way too many spirits for me. I didn’t hear much of the conversation afterwards, but I guess it was agreed that we would go take a look at something. On our way, we encountered three “Cute” cats with fricken’ (please excuse my cursing) light crystals for eyes that can beam into your eyes (maybe your soul) and blind you. Of course, they had to bring a friend with them but I was to busy seeing spots to really see what it was. As we usually do, we took care of them.
Off we went to the spot we were told to go but on our way, we found this really weird girl. I have seen my share of weird and unique people but she was odd. Not that odd is bad. I know you all taught me to embrace the uniqueness and oddity that makes up our souls. She was smaller than the average human and purplish. Her eyes where black and her hands were overly large for her body. While the others were trying to communicate to her I felt this pull to keep going. Like when you hear a child cry and you feel that pull to see what the issue is. It just felt like it was getting stronger as we went towards the direction we were given. I decided the best course was to give this purplish person a piggyback ride until we got to our location and then we could figure out who she was. We arrived into a clearing where there was this dwarf chanting something that really upset Norg cause all of a sudden he charged this guy. I guess that must have triggered some sort of protective instinct in this little purplish person to attack cause the next thing I know I am being scratched and clawed. I think she may have hit me really hard in the head cause when I looked around, I was seeing triplicate. I don’t really remember much after that point. I felt a sharp pain and everything went blank. From what my party tells me is that they took care for the threat while I was resting. And of course in Norg’s style, I woke up to a talking head asking how I was doing. As much as this creeped me out I am starting to expect something like this from him. He needs professional help. I mean serious professional help.
After cleaning up the mess we noticed that the water source was wrong. The colour, the smell, and the feel of it were off. This is where I felt my pull. We found out that there was a body at the bottom of the lake. We fetched it out and burned it. Making sure we did not touch the water or the body if we could prevent it. As they continued clean up duty I set myself to work and started to purify the area. I will say this. It is not the easiest work but I feel so much better in my soul that I was able to take care of this area. I didn’t even mind that once the water source was cleansed that the spirit cat/bird came running up to us and snuggled. I will let that one go this time.
Well until I write again please be safe,
Azurea

Re: AAR: [6H] Till the Cows Come Home (2020-07-16 2300 GMT)
A spiritual malady infects the lands to the West, and Langren has sent out word to investigate. I traveled with others that I have Adventured with before, to see if we can find the cause of the trouble. There is a Spirit Rider in the town of Synevir Named Keryn, whose Spirit Mount reports an interfering force between our world and the Nether Realm from which he is summoned. Spectral beasts roam the land, the unquiet dead from an unknown cause.
We followed the trail for some time before attempting to make camp in a hollow shielded by shrubbery. Unfortnately, this hollow seemed to be the home of a colony of Feluxen, made worse by the presence of a Manticore. Feluxen normally do not associate with Manticores, so perhaps whatever trouble was afoot was reflected here. My compatriots were not prepared to deal with seizure-inducing ambush lions or Talent-destroying flying lions, so it was a very good thing they brought me along. First, I frightened the Manticore back into kittenhood, then I used my Astral Spears to slay the Feluxen.
After our rest, we continued on, encountering a strange entity. We were unable to communicate with it, but it seemed to mean us no harm, so we brought it along, arriving at a watering hole with blackened water and a foul-smelling Dwarf ashore. He introduced himself as Magvan and revealed that he was part of a group that intended to continue the work the Horrors had wroght, to destroy the World in a Scourge Unending. Norg made short work of first Magcan's pet Espagra and then Magvan himself, whilst I once again rescued the rest of the party. The entity we had brought with us proved to be Magvan's Agent, first summoning not one but two additional bodies, then slashing at my allies' vulnerable backsides. As first Langren and then Azurea went down, I summoned my greatest powers and unleashed a wave of caustic energy, the Foul Vapors destroying two of the bodies of the Triplicant. As the last fled, I impaled it with an Astral Spear.
Beneath the waves of the watering hole was the carcass of a dead Horror, leaking putrefaction into the water and poisoning the animals and land. Azurea used her life force - and a not inconsiderable amount of lavender-scented hand soap - to cleanse the land.

From "The Skies of Barsaive", as penned by Norg, Brother of Earth and Sky, Corsair of Throal
I heard that Langren, a human Shaman, was asking for help in dealing with some issues in the village of Synevir. Having little else going on I decided to go check it out. That is how I found myself in an inn listening to an elf called Lonesome Karyn talk about his invisible friend named Smoke, together with Azurea, Dalodorer, and Moe.
Turns out something was spooking the dyre herds in the region and another, probably unrelated issue, was resulting in the villagers being attacked by a "ghost cat". We agree that Karyn would look into the dyres while we go look into the ghost issue.
The next morning we asked around town and found a goat herder that was heading towards the area where the attacks has happened. Once we reached the location, a non descript bit of brushland, we did not really have any better plan than wait and see if the herder got mauled. After a couple of hours the goats started getting nervous and astral observation revealed a "young" huttawa spirit prowling around.
Langren managed to talk to the spirit who after some initial distrust informed us that there's namegivers tainting a watering hole about a day of walk away and that the taint is corrupting the local spirit population. We saw evidence of this when Langren tried to summon his spirit companion and instead got an emaciated huttawa with black orbs for eyes.
Armed with this knowledge we started walking towards the watering hole. By dusk we reached another non descript bit of grassland, where we started thinking about making camp, when we spotted some kind of large flyer overhead. While we tried to puzzle out what it was, Azurea spotted three catlike creatures in the nearby bushes.
All four of these creatures seemed to have decided we were a meal so we found ourselves in a fight against a manticore and three feluxes. The manticore had a staring contest with Daldorer and decided food could be found elsewhere, meanwhile Azurea and I got to experience the wonders of felux flashing its eyes at you, which I can report is about as nauseating and debilitating as those horror construct I had encountered near the cloister of silence over a year before.
Other than me losing my lunch while hosting an angry boar spirit, the feluxes were dealt with fairly quickly.
The next day we resumed our trek towards the watering hole, some tracking by Langen suggests that it is also where the feluxes came from. Azurea once again spotted something in a nearby copse of trees: some kind of deformed human child, or maybe a really thin dwarf, with purple skin and black orbs for eyes. After some fruitless attempts at communication, we resumed our journey with Azurea carrying the creature.
Not long after we reached the watering hole, which was tainted enough we could notice it from several hundred yards. Ready for battle we approached to find the filthiest dwarf I have ever seen ranting about "finishing the work that was left undone". I enquired if it he meant the scourge and upon receiving an affirmative response I decided there was not much else to discuss and charged.
The dwarf's pet espagra tried to claw at me, but I just kept running over it to kill its master. As a side note espagra necks cannot take a full grown troll stomping on them. The dwarf realised his predicament and tried to flee, which is rather hard to do when your attacker is twice your height.
The other did not fare as well, the creature turned out to be a Triplicant, and it three bodies mauled Langren and Azurea before Moe and Daldorer literally melted them with their spells. As another note to any Nethermancer that will read this, Foul Vapors is a terrible name for that spell.
Fight over, we took care of the wounded, and I thought that making a puppet out of Princess, the dead espagra, would cheer up Azurea when she woke up. I don't think she liked it, maybe I should have tried to hide the crushed side of the skull better...
Afterwards we turned our attention to the water, it turns out someone had dropped a horror corpse in it. Some rope work and Moe's flying carpet let us remove it and burn it with out too much risk, then Azurea started working on purifying the land, while we searched the surroundings. We found the dwarf's hut and correspondence with other members of the "The Scourge", a fraternity of nutjobs that want to wipe out life.
Azurea managed to clear most of the taint in a couple of days and then we made our way back to Synevir. On the way back we met the huttawa spirit that had given use directions, who seemed most pleased. Karyn also seemed happy with our work and offered to train Langren in the way of the spirit rider.
