thinking switch 3rd to 4th edition

Post by kevsurp » Wed Apr 17, 2019 10:00 pm

So i am thinking of switching my game from 3rd to 4th but i have a problem of converting the windling windmaster character over
and some of the spells that the mages have as so don't exist in 4th yet.

A conversion is mainly a rebuild.
Take the legend points he has and rebuild him from scratch.

It will not be a 1:1 copy.

If you desperately miss a spell, just follow Kant, the philosopher. Create a rule that can become a universal law perceived fair even when applied against you.

If you don’t like what you have done in a few sessions, just change it.

More or less. He made a section about some extended Disciplines (http://pandagaminggrove.blogspot.com/20 ... ne-03.html). Things like Windscouts, Windmasters and Winddancers where created in a time before the optional Talents mechanics due to the fact that since all DIsciplines had to have the exact same talents, some where completely useless for windlings (like astral sight, windcatcher or climbing) so they created homemade versions for them.

Panda just took the core Discipline for each of them (Warrior for Windmaster, Scout for WIndscout etc) and tweaked them a bit.
Of course, as the GM, you could just sit down and 'create' your own Windmaster Discipline, probably by taking the Warrior built as a base, thrown in the Buzz Talent somewhere in there and tweak it as you like.
