question would it work or unbalance to use the 4th ed disciplines with 3rd edition rules?
i like how the disciplines are done in 4th but not the spells for some reason i cann't explain why.

i just started a 3rd edition game so it would be hard to convert the characters over.

i mean, i guess you *can* do whatever you want. it's your game. and i'm sure the gaming police are far too busy dealing with someone else's badwrongfun to kick in your door and keep you from polluting the sacred purity of the game rules which were obviously meant to never under any circumstances have any of us mere mortals modify them in any way :P

anyways, i expect you'll only find all of the little things that don't quite work the way they should unless/until you try it. be prepared to work out some weird things as you go.

(and on a side note, i was recently looking at my old redbrick books through the spells section and thinking how much i like the spells in 4e better, and feel like while there are fewer total spells that i think there are more spells that i would want to know and have prepared in a matrix in 4th... thought it was a bit funny how we came to completely different conclusions :P different strokes for different folks, i guess :D )
