So, I'm thinking that Charisma should be used for social Perception as well as talking pretty. Can you tell if someone's lying? Use Charisma. Want to know if a statement is logical, based on what you know about the ecology of the Throalic Mountains? Perception knowledge skill. After all, Dex is used to dodge and attack; the primary stat for social interactions should be the same.

Isn't that what the Insight Interaction test is for? GMG p. 146

It is! And I've always been under the impression that it was Perception-based. I wonder if that was the case in previous editions, but on re-reading your reference, it certainly is Charisma.
