LFG: [9M] The Serpent Rises
Time: 2021-04-22 @ 2300 GMT (7PM EST)
GM: Pub
Difficulty: 9M
Rumor Source: Bloodbeat (Anoush)
Rumor: Recently, when infiltrating Gerri van Drake’s operations, Bloodbeat and her companions fought a fearsome snake in a cave beneath the Coil River. The resemblance to some of the myths and legends of the Serpent River intrigued Bloobeat. So she’s been studying these legends in the Great Library. Furthermore, she traveled to Sosonopa, Syrtis and other towns along the Serpent, asking about the locals’ knowledge of the old legends.
To her surprise, she learned that in the last few weeks — since the serpent beneath the Coil River was vanquished — that there’s been trouble along the Serpent River. Ships have been disappearing between Sosonopa and Syrtis. Other ships have been thrown up onto rocks, badly damaged, lives and cargo lost. The t’skrang aropagoi in the region report that the tides and waves have been surprisingly high and violent of late, too. No explanation or connection has been found.
These disasters and changes are causing lots of trouble with shipping and transportation. Alternate routes and higher crew costs are raising prices on trade goods.
Locals speak worriedly about how the Great Dragon that rules the Serpent River is awakening and causing these troubles. Some shudderingly speculate that sacrifices are needed to appease him, perhaps some kind of blood magic.
If not for her recent adventures, Bloodbeat would consider these just old folk tales, but not any more. So she’s gathering a group to investigate and find out just what’s causing the problem.
The Slavers Come Home to Roost on the Soaring Espagra
Location: Places along the Serpent
Alt Reward: None predetermined
Note: 3-5 Players
