The Samsut want your dead so that they can turn them into remotely piloted slave labour. The spirits - well, that would depend on whether these are spirits of the Gruv or of Earth, of Man or of Nature... or something else entirely. There are things out there that are not of this dimension at all, and their motives cannot be understood by mortals.

It's cool to see how exciting the premise was to someone who didn't know what to expect from the game. And he looked at the system and came to the correct conclusion! I've never understood how anyone could not love the underlying step system.
