Re: Summon Bone Spirit
Well, after you make the Circle and summon the spirit, you can - according to the text - simply remove any sign of it, so I don't see why it would be a problem to leave them around, beyond the fact that random people could walk into them and get mauled.

Re: Summon Bone Spirit
I usually just take the first watch each night, and then set up the circle. I'm eagerly awaiting Circle 5 so I can summon it in one turn. If you set one up each night you should have two of them within range if you travel 20 miles per day.

Summon Bone Spirit
My quest to understand the possibilities and limitations of summoning continues. Now I've made my Bone Circle and a fight has broken out. I summon my Bone Spirit and it rolls initiative. If the initiative has already happened the Bone Spirit sits out this round, but the second round it takes action,...

Summon Fog Ghost
My Nethermancer just recently got a hold of this spell, and a question arose after the first time I used it. The spell Summon Fog Ghost makes the Fog Ghost appear, and it immediately attacks the nearest target, so far so good. What initiative does it act on in the following rounds though? We just us...

Re: Nethermancer: Summoning
It seems hard to use to be honest, but I have to buy it anyway and I do so loathe to waste things. 30 minutes to perform the ritual, so unless it's a prepared fight then it's zero use in combat. It stays just one hour for each success, so even a planned combat is difficult to make happen, unless you...

Re: Nethermancer at Circle 3?
Update on this thread. I solved my problem with feeling useless on the lower circles in combat. We fought a lesser horror and my magic kept bouncing off it, and finally my strength 8 Nethermancer picked up a knife and simply stabbed it, and due to open ended rolls on both hit and damage... kaSPLAT. ...

Re: Nethermancer at Circle 3?
Does the wizard feel the same as you in combat, though? I don't think so. He has built his character to be able to engage in melee, but most importantly a Mind Dagger has increased damage with success, and it debuffs Physical Defense on top of the better damage, so it allows the rest of the team to...

Re: Nethermancer at Circle 3?
That is a very good argument tbhSharkforce wrote: ↑Tue Apr 09, 2019 7:54 am(...) the biggest argument is that they are from the nether realms, and it seems like they would be equipped to handle darkness from those other dimensions. YMMV, of course.

Re: Nethermancer at Circle 3?
Well, that's a bummer. So party composition is an issue, too. But doesn't that make you the only ranged attacker? We have a Troll Swordmaster, an Elf Beastmaster with a Wolf, a Human Wizard, and an Elf Nethermancer. We also have a Obsidiman Warrior that can only make about half our sessions. We had...
