Isn't blood magic's duration normally a year and a day, unless the character decides to prematurely end the enchantment and heal the wound? I think that's what it says in PG, though I'm not 100% certain

Shield and Forge Armor, why not?
While this might qualify as a stupid question I was wondering why shields cannot be improved through Forging skills.
Is it because they are pure Defense items, making buffing that statistic too easy or is there something deeper behind it?

As far as my understanding goes modifiers simply increase a given step.
Is that the case with Flameweapon and similar spells as well or is the additional damage rolled as a separate dice?

Survival Guide validity
I purchased the Survival Guide to gain information about the Wastes, Badlands and similar areas.
Has this information been updated elsewhere?
Also the rest of the Survival Guide is that usual for ED4 in terms of fluff, less so mechanics?
