Haggle clarification
Am I understanding haggle correctly? The talent description states: If successful, the price rises or falls by 5 percent of the goods’ cost in favor of the adept. Merchants or customers can make Haggle tests to readjust the price in their favor. The adept may make a number of tests per transaction e...

Re: What language do Therans speak?
Of course it is, as some wit once said, "The difference between a dialect and a language is an army and a navy", and in this case they have an air force too!The Read/Write/Speak learning difficulty for Theran is 5, FYI. While related to Sperethiel, it is its own language and not a dialect.

Re: Alchemy difficulty numbers
Thanks for the responses! I'm happy to use the 3rd edition rules until the companion comes out, I was just concerned that I was missing something that had already been published somewhere. This should be a long running campaign (assuming the players take the bait I have a long, world altering story ...

Alchemy difficulty numbers
So, one of the characters in my game wants to start making potions. Looking at the Alchemy skill the section on creating potions and salves states: The character makes an Alchemy test against the appropriate Difficulty Number. But I can't find any listing for the difficulty numbers. I know in ED3 th...

Re: Optional Rules for Companion
Merging Skills with Talents. ED3 had rules that a skill could be upgraded to fill an available talent slot when the Adept was capable of learning it. If, say, a Troubadour created his character with the melee weapons skill, but picked it up as an option at third circle. Am I just missing this optio...

Re: Optional Rules for Companion
Once the create decides to engage one enemy, though, it can no longer perform all those impeding actions, meaning it is no longer performing zone control, meaning other enemies can pass by/through without ill effects. I would agree with this too, once engaged with an opponent you aren't likely to b...

Re: Optional Rules for Companion
Yeah, I think Undying and I are both looking for a way to deny movement. You try to run down the passage, and a bodyguard leaps in front of you, blades flashing. If he hits you, bonus for him, but mostly you can't just run past him without impaling yourself on his sword. I imagine as something for ...

Re: Optional Rules for Companion
I'd also enjoy seeing something like the "zone of control" as suggested by The Undying.

Re: Hold Thread
This is the first time I've really looked at this talent and I have to agree that it seems underwhelming. If it allowed you to hold a thread for minutes per rank per point of strain/action test it might have more utility, though even then it seems like it might ought to hold multiple threads to make...
