Re: What language do Therans speak?
One is not derived from the other in the sense that most romance languages are derived from Latin and yet they are so inherently different... that knowing one doesn't really help you speak or understand the other in a meaningful way. Not necessarilythe case. Languages are weird, and there's not a c...

Re: Karma Knacks
Willforce is a talent. If it is being used in a spell effect test, you can spend Karma on it.
The same way you can spend Karma on Down Strike, Surprise Strike, Claw Shape, or other damage tests without a specific Discipline ability to spend Karma on damage.

Re: What language do Therans speak?
Well, the difference between "language" and "dialect" is fuzzy, and largely the realm of academic debate. It does have a framework in game terms though. "Throalic" is a dialect of the dwarf racial language, as would Scythan. If you found a kaer where the residents spoke the latter, you could speak t...

Re: My ED4 Campaign Post-Mortem
That is an interesting idea. There's not a lot of stuff that messes with Karma (balance issues), but this doesn't seem too out there.
It might make for an interesting knack.

Re: High Circle Preview: All Links + Wrap-Up Discussion
I will take the feedback in the spirit it is offered, as long as that spirit is returned in kind. This could be read different ways. Please feel free to drop me a PM if the deleted content was mainly aimed at me. Don't worry about polish or bluntness, and if there's something I can do more of or le...

Re: High Circle Preview: All Links + Wrap-Up Discussion
So... understanding that I can't make any promises... but that I am open (as always) to feedback... and setting aside for now specific rules implementations... What do you think is missing from Elementalists (in particular)? is there something that was part of their kit before that you think isn't n...

Re: 9-th circle spells
Now... how many of those spells might actually be useful ? Especially for adventuring? I can't help but have this vision of the upper echelons of magicians (Wizards especially) kind of like graduate or PhD programs. That is, a lot more research than practical application. I mean, yeah. There are pro...

Re: What language do Therans speak?
The Read/Write/Speak learning difficulty for Theran is 5, FYI. While related to Sperethiel, it is its own language and not a dialect.
