Re: [ED3] Re-sizing magical items
I don't remember anything about items changing sizes like that. Although the amount of Thread Items I had in all my time playing first edition was....zero. So I had not read much about the mechanics then. Taking a quick look into the 1st edition corebook I cannot find anything related to that either...

You can also uses the price prices listed for certain items and lifestyles and compares what fraction of someone's salary the same things would cost to someone nowadays. For example the old Barsaive Boxed Set gives guidelines for lifestyles: Squalid: 5 Poor: 25 Comfortable: 150/circle Wealthy: 350/c...

Re: multiple questions
Although this 'special' rule might make sense in the context of being unaware of the errata; having a brand new character with Rank 3 Second Attack + Rank 3 Riposte + Rank 2 Second Weapon would be quite OP in my opinion.

Re: Ship and Mass Combat
Sorry, but you are incorrect. Well, they ARE missing from the Serpent River book as I said :D I did not mean to offend however. I did suspect the rules might have been put somewhere else but I could not find them in the 3rd Edition core book but I had not thought of checking the GM Companion (I had...

Re: Ship and Mass Combat
I was unaware of this, the extended ship-to-ship rules do seem interesting and I would also like to know where/when they might become available although I hardly can think of any of the next announced books to be appropriate for those rules. They would have indeed been right in their place in the Co...

Re: Suggestions for caster
Why is he even using spells that need two threads? Ice Mace and Chain is quite a strong spell and needs no threads at all. *Smash heads on table while reading the spell description* I did not even know there was such a thing as a no-thread attack spell. I had advised him against taking it because t...

Suggestions for caster
Hello. I would like to have some inputs from you all concerning casters in Earthdawn. Context: I'm part of a gaming group who played Earthdawn for about 18 months now. I have experience in Earthdawn for more than 20 years but all the others are brand new. Furthermore, in all those years I never real...

Re: Disbelieving damaging illusions
Note however that anybody seeing or otherwise sensing an inanimate object struck by a damaging illusion will see/sense the object being damaged. It will seem later on (a few minutes) that the object has been miraculously repaired while nobody was looking. Three melons struck by a crossbow bolt, an ...

Re: Disbelieving illusions
Good question. My opinion would be that there is 2 big variables here: which spell and who is the target of said spell. An Adept with some experience behind his belt will be actively aware of the existence of Illusionists and have a basic understanding of their capabilities and thus would be more li...
