What is the difficulty of learning Theran and other provisional languages? In the Player's Guide there are only ratings for racial languages.
Theran is sad to be a variation of Sperithiel so would it be that though raised by two since it's a dialect?

Animal Bond + Dominate Beast, acceptable combination? Plus other AB & DB stuff
Since it was not that a stupid question after all as it sparked at discussion then let's continue here: So Animal Bond can be done every round until success has been achieved, but should it be allowed to be done against an animal being held mesmerized by Dominate Beast or similar effects? I vaguely ...

Re: Dumb Questions
Maybe I was more puzzled by the Dominate Beast then Animal Bond combination. Seems too easy. Go find a Behemoth, dominate and then try to bond. Run within the last minute if you fail your bond 60 times in a row. But if it is as intended I'll accept that and keep it as a learning experience with the ...

Re: Dumb Questions
Animal Bond: How many times can an adept attempt to turn an animal from hostile to neutral? Only once or attempt each round until he succeeds? Scenario: Our group got waylaid by Jub Jubs at a ford. The Beastmaster uses Dominate Beast on one and then attempts to use Animal Bond on it, which he fails ...

Re: Optional Rules for Companion
Something from the Stacking thread:
Allow a caster to cast a spell the same round he completes he weaves the last required thread.
A variant is: Allow a caster to cast a spell the same round the pattern is completed if an addition success is rolled on the final Thread Weaving test.

Re: Stacking (ED4)
I feel that Thread Weaving should still be a standard action but a caster should be allowed to cast the spell if they complete the pattern that round. Would it not dilute the Enhanced Matrix talent though? In any case I'll test it with my group (too) Failure should not be rewarded. It like being abl...

Re: Stacking (ED4)
Simple actions are not limited to one per round so having the thread mechanism would lose meaning.

Re: Optional Rules for Companion
Maybe something like allowing the target to make a perception check with penalties to negate blindside bonuses or surprise strikes against opponents who ain't sneaking and moving from the target's perception arch to their backs. On the other hand the battlefield is a loud, messy place where you focu...

Porting weapons from 3 to 4
Can weapons found in ED3 publications such as Namegivers of Barsaive be used as is or do they require slight modification?
