Re: Animal Training: What is and isn't one "Command". Also, what does it mean for a mount to be "Combat Trained".

Animal Training: The adept trains an animal to obey simple commands such as “scout ahead,” “smell that,” and “go home,” as well as the more usual “stop,” “heel,” “fetch,” and “kill.” An animal can be taught a maximum number of commands equal to the adept’s Animal Training rank. Each command requires...

Animal Training: What is and isn't one "Command". Also, what does it mean for a mount to be "Combat Trained".

I find the Animal Training skill very confusing trying to determine what is "one Command" as opposed to "more than one Command" or "ability that is not a Command". I am coming at this thinking about a Cavalryman, but I think most of the issues are identical for Beastmasters. OK, so first off, a Cava...

Re: Fourth Edition Errata, Clarifications, and FAQs

Players Guide pg 395 in the section "Mount Training" has the following line.
some abilities such as Dominate Beast or Tame Mount allow a rider to control them quickly
What the heck is "Tame Mount"? Should that read "Animal Bond"?

Roll20 Earthdawn Character sheet - Permission to use text.

I have been developing an Earthdawn character sheet for Roll20 as a not for profit volunteer hobby activity. It is pretty nice, will roll correct step dice and even automatically roll and assign damage. It is about ready to be published and made available to the entire Roll20 community. So far I hav...

Re: Adding a Player when party is in a hard to access location - Ideas?

I have an Earthdawn Character sheet for Roll20. I have not published it yet as I am still adding features, but I feel it is better than the one that is published. Let me know if you want a copy. I think I will probably publish it within a month or two.

Re: Adding a Player when party is in a hard to access location - Ideas?

No matter what you do, it is going to be pretty clearly deus ex machina. However this is a world of magic and "deus". The only hope is to present it as something that can be covered by a willing suspension of disbelief rather than a jarring note of "well the impossible happens and ...". Since you ha...

Re: Adding a Player when party is in a hard to access location - Ideas?

Remnant of the last party is probably your best bet, especially since there was a previous party down there a few weeks/months earlier. The module says that the last member of that party starved to death weeks before the PCs show up, but you could justify one trapped behind the rock-slide with most ...

Re: Awareness vs Perception

And to go even further into the weeds, Awareness is specifically a short range talent that takes 3 successes to be used a medium range, and can't be used at long range at all. So if that suspiciously flying raven is at medium range, the GM might rule that characters using perception have to meet the...

Re: When can the use of an Absorb Blow charm be declared?

So do most people play that it is activated post after damage is announced? or Before?
