Re: Wyvern: Animal?

you have to read between the lines of one of the older books (it's about dragons, it was free at one point i believe - not sure if it is now). it is heavily implied that a great dragon who is being interviewed is *saying* they aren't a stage of a dragon's life... but is totally lying. he describes a...

Re: Optional Strain Rule

i tend to view strain as something you take because you hope that it will prevent further damage. that is, you're using avoid blow and taking some strain in the hope that it will protect you from the damage that would be caused by not avoiding the blow. you're using second attack in hopes of killing...

Re: longing curse for Blood Elves?

well, i doubt it's supposed to be completely and utterly crippling, so i would imagine it probably starts relatively low and achievable and then builds up to gradually be nigh impossible.

Re: 4th ed spells now take LP to learn?

hmmm... that rewards a hyper-focus on perception a bit too much for my tastes. if i was going to award anything, it would be a single spell of the new circle. with that said, increasing their circle isn't exactly without benefits anyways, and it isn't like anyone worries that a warrior might reach c...

Re: Step dice - d8 system

as i recall, the steps in the book account for rolling max value on the die into the average step value. i would imagine that this system messes with that somewhat. so for example, step 3 is a d4 not because the average of a d4 is 2.5, but because when you factor in the 1 in 4 chance to roll a 4 and...

Re: Mystic Paths Disciplines

i don't have the book, but i can definitely see how a single high damage hit could work as well or better than multiple low damage hits simply because armour is subtracting a flat number off of each one... but i will note that it will mostly only be valuable against enemies with very high armour. li...

Re: Thread Items for sale?

i would point out that while you as an adept are not likely to be the most wealthy person in the entire land, there's a fair chance you are among the people who have the most *liquid* wealth in the entire land. that is, you may not be as rich as a noble or a wealthy merchant, but it is moderately li...

Re: Disappointment with the Nethermancer

perhaps we need some tables to randomly generate quirks for various summoned spirits; what kind of payment they accept (or accept at a favourable or unfavourable rate), what kind of services they like, hated enemies or beloved allies that they'll act somewhat on their own to attack or protect, what ...

Re: Fourth Edition Errata, Clarifications, and FAQs

i don't think there is strictly speaking any such thing as a spell damage test. there are effect tests, some of which are used to determine the amount of damage a spell deals, but not actual damage tests. i could be wrong though.

it is presumably the same process as for keeping light crystals alive, i would think.
