Re: Companion living armour

Also the crystal plate takes 7 successes at target 19, at one roll a week, so you're not making a suit a week unless you're using loaded dice. *shrug* it isn't an automatic thing, but you likely have karma available to spend on it which will help, and weaponsmiths can spend 2 points of karma on tes...

Re: Companion living armour

the crystal plate pattern (and indeed all patterns) are not going to be priced for normal person use, they're going to be priced according to what a merchant would pay. and from a merchant's perspective, after making 20 suits they've earned their investment minus the cost of wages... in all likeliho...

Re: Ranged Aiming

well, for adepts i feel like mystic aim and spot armour flaw both represent taking a moment to aim quite nicely. i suppose i could imagine skill versions that were not as strong such that anyone could pick it up. or perhaps just make it a part of the various combat skills. something like mystic aim ...

Re: Familiars 4th edition

well i have to say i'm hoping it's more along the "thread item" route than the "access to a whole pile of extra talents" route. most of those talents are useful primarily because they apply to a core part of the discipline's kit, and also to large extent because they can be applied to multiple creat...

Re: Nethermancer at Circle 3?

honestly not sure that's worth too much depth of research... i mean, you would *technically* also need to factor in the chance that astral strain is going to work too. sounds like a fair bit of bother. i think "a bit more, but probably still not quite enough to consistently out-damage spirit dart" i...

Re: Nethermancer at Circle 3?

astral strain would also be significant in that it would increase the chance of hitting, so it should add more than just the chance of getting an extra success.

Re: Nethermancer at Circle 3?

I did some number crunching and have come to the conclusion that Spirit Darts is better than Astral Spear. There are the use cases where the enemy has high mystic armor (and you need to beat it), has no MA (so the benefit of Spirit Darts goes away), or you really want to cause a wound. Generally, t...

Re: Nethermancer at Circle 3?

perhaps you should consider carrying a few *non* spirit darts with you :P ^^
