So in short: You need the other two talents if you want to use Karma on the same taleent more than once a round, like for example for Avoid Blow.
But you can use the same knack for all talents in the same round.

And here I thought they are just wary of blood oaths, because you are deeply "indepted" to another person. And if something happens to your life rock while at the same time you have to fulfill your blood oath, the obsidian has to make a sacrifice. They's why I stated, that if the trust is big enough...

Anyway, the condition for a group pattern is always that the characters blindly trust each other.
So if one clarifies ingame in advance that the group will stand by the Obsidian in case of a threat to the liferock, or at least not in the way of the Obsidian, there should be no objections.

Just as you noted yourself: Karma can be seen as an addition +4 Step.
+ Your dice can explode.
And what you shouldn't miss either: You no longer fall automatically if Avoid Blow fails. So just 1 strain damage for a second chance.

We houseruled that some armors are stackable (if it makes sence) like blood pebbles + fernweave. But we also said that only one item can be upgraded. If you go with the "Only the highest value counts"-rule, you still can "cheat". Like a forged blood pebble with mystical armor +8 and a forged fernwea...

Am I the only person who used Throne of Air for the dogde abilty?
It was an extremely powerful spell.
And I guess it was cut because of exactly this reason.
Each other casters also lost their spells to dogde with spellcasting. :cry:
