Re: Kratas and Daiche

Using this map (http://fondationdraco.fr/barsaive-1517-th/) and a measuring tape, I'd say just under 2 days on foot. This, however, is based on the usual in-game rule of 'only' walking 8 hours per day. Considering the large amount of thieves, thugs and brigands AND taking into account the several ba...

Re: Talent Options becoming Free Talents

Personally, I'd treat it the same way it happens with skills; the character gets 'both' talents and gets to choose how to use them. - If the 'Free Version' is already equal or higher than the 'Normal Version' then its not even a question; the character will use the Free one and never spend another L...

Re: Severely distracted

I'd say the character who rolled the highest on his Distract Test will have distracted the target enough that he would not notice the distraction from the other character.

Re: Charging Attacks and Charge Talent

Thank you all for your answers but one of those answers is confusing me a bit: the mount must move more than it's movement rate towards the target, which is another way of saying it takes 2 rounds to initiate a charge My understanding is that since 'Movement' in 4th Edition is the equivalent of the ...

Charging Attacks and Charge Talent

I'm getting a bit lost concerning the Charging Attacks game mechanic and the Charge talent itself and would appreciate help. 1-If I understand correctly, the Charge talent by itself is 'nothing' as it just increase the damage of the Charging Attacks mechanic ; in other words, someone who are using t...

Re: [ED4] Same spell multiple times on one target - what happens?

Spells with effects that do not stack usually have this specified in the spell description. Therefore, unless I've missed something, I'd say that it would go this way: Round 1: Effect: WIL+2/Mystic and a -2 penalty to Physical Defense" Round 2: Effect: WIL+2/Mystic and a -4 penalty to Physical Defen...

Re: Facing and blindside

This is a classic issue: yes it would 'make sense' that one would follow his attackers to prevent getting him in his back but the questions is can he? In your 1 vs 1 example it might make sense but then again when does the difference in speed (i.e. DEX) kicks in? I can easily imagine a windling with...

Re: Down Strike vs. Knocked down

Here's my personal view about this: Down Strike is exactly the same thing as the Charge talent but vertically: The added damage is due to added momentum, nothing else. The (arbitrary) 1 yard rule simply mean you need to have been in free-fall for at least 1 yard to get the necessary momentum for the...

Re: Down Strike vs. Knocked down

So my feet have to be one yard above his face? I don’t really see that applying much to the actual gravitational forces involved and actual weapon distance traveled regarding my racial examples. Also, I don’t really see your two “OK” examples as including a stable position. What does jumping down o...

Re: Multi-Discipline - Old Skill, New Talent v4

I think I can answer my own question on further research. In the Skills versus Talents on p.183 of the Players Guide it notes that some Adepts will have both Talent and Skill versions of some things. So my conclusion is that having the skill has no effect, you would still need to learn that same th...
