Old GM taking a glance at the QuickStart, with a question about how karma plays. In first edition, trolls were more powerful than windlings in the average round. When something was very important, however, and they both spent karma to boost the effort then the windling was the one to put your money ...

Core Earthdawn Book Layout?
I can't think of a polite way to approach this, so I apologize if it sounds rude. I ordered 1879 from my FLGS, never having seen it. When it arrived, I was disappointed in the layout. The phrase "data dump" keeps coming out mind. I appreciate there is a lot of info, and the book is already almost 60...

Re: EDC vs ED4
The C does stand for Classic. ED1 was published by FASA Corporation from 1993 to 1999. ED2 was published by Living Room Games (under license from FASA) from 2001 to 2006. EDC was published by Redbrick, Ltd. (under a different license from FASA) from 2005 to 2008. ED3 was published by Redbrick, Ltd....

Re: EDC vs ED4
So... I'm not quite clear on what you have. You mention "when it first came out" -- does that mean the original (1993) edition put out by FASA? Because you also mention EDC, which is... a compilation of first edition material with some tweaks Oops. Sorry. Being new I thought the C stood for Classsi...

Re: Demonworld 11/28 Blog Discussion
I have really heard nothing about this game. I love the Earthdawn system - it's now called Corestep is it? A lower magic level matches the way I ran my Earthdawn campaigns back in the day. Is Prime like Earthdawn karma to start?

EDC vs ED4
It's fun to be part of a living breathing game community. It's great to support game companies doing good work. That being said - core book alone - I still have my book on bought when the game first came out. I bought one of the newer editions - Livingroom Games? - and ended up selling it. Didn't se...

Re: Ordered my Copy
I have a few ideas based on what I've read online, and what is coming down the pipeline later. I can say I'm going to worry less about historic details and accuracy than some people seem to. I'm letting my ideas float around untethered until I get the book in my hands.
