Re: Romance and Seduction
I see two potential issues with a legend point cost for social connections. First, you run the risk of your points walking off. Perhaps literally. A magic hammer will not get annoyed with you and stop whacking people. I realize Earthdawn isn't a game where your points are guaranteed (you don't get ...

Is he new to roleplaying games?
Has he liked anything from your previous sessions?
What are his favorite movies, books, and video games?

Re: What are the Denairastas up to in your campaign?
To add to what Belenus wrote, does the player's character have a backstory? If he does, mine that for plot hooks. If not, then see if he'll provide one (offering LP). Make a part of the adventure about him! As for what the Denairastas are doing in my campaign, check out my latest post mortem, the sp...

Re: [Thread Item] Favu's Big Hammer
If he wants to master anything besides it, he should just learn it as any other disciplin as well. He doesn't actually care. I tried to get ideas from him, but he just wanted to hit harder. That said, he liked the idea of something elemental related and also the idea of a range ability. So I threw ...

Re: [Thread Item] Favu's Big Hammer
Excellent point on the melee vs. thrown talents. I'll probably just do thread rank plus dexterity. Range on all things will likely be 20 yards. If the "teleport" does an effect, definitely a standard action. If not, maybe a move. Strain, strain, everywhere strain! And probably lots for the transport...

[Thread Item] Favu's Big Hammer
This is my idea for the warrior in my group. Not fleshed out yet, but the idea is to provide some ranged options to the warrior and battlefield mobility. These ranged attacks should be generally weaker than close combat, as well as weaker than the scout's bow, but perhaps still use his melee weapon ...

Re: Pattern Items and True Patterns?
On that last one, I'd suspect that the Adept would likely have a sense that something was off. Not because it isn't magical, but because if it was something so personal and had been with him or her for so long that it became a pattern item, then they likely are intimately familiar with it. A tiny sc...

That unfortunate misspelling sounds like the Illusionist's form of Astral Maw.

Re: Romance and Seduction
There should be a 'Wingman' knack with this Talent for whenever another character wants to help another using that talent. :D Honestly, I'm still not thrilled with the lack of structure around helping others or group tests, but that's a digression and already covered in another thread...which I mig...

Generic Thread Item Names
I mentioned this in my postmortem, but I thought I'd throw it out here for general consumption. The first key knowledge for a thread item is (almost) always the Name. In some cases, the thread item is actually a generic item pattern. I originally thought they all just had the same Name, but that nev...
