Re: dumb question?

Nethermancers are now more clearly focused on spirits, undead, and blood magic, and not horrors, which was probably felt to be too broad. I think that almost all of the other disciplines also suffered some focusing that cut the usefulness of half magic in general. It is just not as used as it was in...

Re: 1879: The Expendables

The journal of Lord Bentley Bootle, Day 34 out of Caracas.     I forgot to mention in yesterdays journal entry that Erika, examining the "gate" on the day I was wounded reported some sort of miasma emanating from it. She seemed to think it was unhealthy and/or dangerous and so the decision was made...

Re: Weird Scientists

Plus, even if your group does not have a Weird Scientist, it enriches the world and your players understanding of it to have the WS rules out there. In Earthdawn, I have frequently said that not every party needs to have a Weaponsmith, but every party does need to KNOW a weaponsmith. The Weaponsmith...

Re: Big Trouble in Little Soho [Spoilers]

Cuso continues his storytelling... It took a while for the police to figure out which shop the gunshots they had heard were coming from, it was a while before they finally burst in. We took the time to look over the scene a bit closer, and then I had to treat the crazy woman for shock. Her hand was ...

Re: The RaW for infections are brutal!!!

Kind of. There are two sets of rules, rules to avoid infection, and rules to heal infection, and wounds will not heal while they are infected. The initial goal is to heal your wounds before they become infected, once the last wound is healed you don't have to worry about infection any more. Physicia...

Re: Astral Sight: What does it see?

I think the basis of my question is really this: I have the strong feeling that Astral Sight is meant to be used for studying specific things -- trying to learn the basics about a Thread Item, or to divine information about a particular NPC, that sort of thing. What I see it actually used for is al...

Re: The RaW for infections are brutal!!!

If the character’s Wounds are treated with antibacterial medication, such as powdered penicillin, and clean bandages, no additional penalty is incurred for the day. Applying the powder grants a +6 Step bonus to Resistance Tests to avoid infection. Do both of these effects apply? One dose of powdere...

Re: The RaW for infections are brutal!!!

I saw that @Andrew1879 posted in the Product Line Errata, but just wanted to note that it did not fix the big logic error in the rules that makes it impossible to clear up an infection except upon the very first day. for a number of days equal to the duration of the infection This is impossible to d...

Re: 1879: The Expendables

The journal of Lord Bentley Bootle, Day 33 out of Caracas.    It has been a slow 4 days, as I am needing much time to recover from some serious wounds. As I stated in my previous entry, we had waited a day for Erica and McFly to recover from poison, then opened some boxes and a sarcophagus, and the...

The RaW for infections are brutal!!!

The RaW for infections are brutal!!!  If a physician and lots of medicine are not available, severely damaged characters with a wound or two will almost certainly die.  This thread is basically just to get corrections, comments and opinions about what people think about the infection rules. There ar...
