Re: Alternate Discipline Talents

I just went with the alternate advancement rules where you don't need to take the discipline talent and can advance on options instead.

I believe you can, you don't get it improve the free matrices though. You can also versatility in more matrices if you're playing a human, although they're more legend expensive than matrix items.

Spellcaster damage

I've had one of my players complain that he feels like he's grossly underpowered in combats. The enhancements are useful, but an elemental spear is Will+4 (plus successes), when the party archer is doing str+13 because of forging and a minor thread item. Is this expected? Is Willforce just too high ...

Multiple disciplines and karma rituals

Given that paths modify the followers karma ritual in specific ways, is there any indication of what happens to someone with more than one discipline. Do you merge the intent of both? Just do one? It's left out of the expanding your legend part. As an other thought, does the mastery karma improvemen...

Contacting a kaer

I was wanting to have my players find an uncontacted, unopened kaer, and was wondering what details have been given about how people would contact the people inside, what rituals were in the book of tomorrow, and the like. All I can find is that the book of tomorrow does give methods, but not what t...

Re: Alchemy and the players . . .

Ok, but then that makes all the living armours basically never made because it takes pushing a skill up and rolling that rather than your talent to make them. On the higher end, you can't weave threads to skills so the high armour items like crystal plate push into being impossible to make. How many...

Re: Alchemy and the players . . .

There is also the advantage that weaponsmiths get, of having alchemy alongside every other crafting skill. They still need to find out design patterns though, but being the only people who can spend karma on all forms of alchemy makes them much better at making some in a gap between adventures. And ...

Re: Generic Thread Item Names

That's how I've been doing it, everything the party's got so far was a standard thread item other than a custom portable alchemy kit I recently introduced. I'm just keeping track of the key knowledge on a separate set of notes so they're all together.

Traps and Scurriers

Are generic traps meant to have some base attribute values? Because Scurrier's roll step 10 plus karma at 4 to generate trap attributes, which gives them an average of 14 points to spread over 4 attributes, meaning that they make traps that aren't threatening to anyone. Even leaving them with a disa...

Re: Companion living armour

That makes sense for bespoke or exceptionally rare patterns, and is discussed in the book itself, including using blood promises to secure training. The lack of large items to compare the handful of singularly expensive presented crafting items to makes it hard to work out how rare any of this stuff...
