Is it just me, or is Invoke Leopard Pounce really strong?

so as a rough outline, the spell forces a knockdown check, has damage that scales with extra successes, requires 0 threads, and is first circle. now, that isn't completely insane; if it were to, say, lose out on the damage scaling with extra successes or required 1 thread, I would think it was a pre...

Re: Key knowledge for "common" thread items

as to why more powerful magic is harder to detect... who says it's just blasting out magic energy all over the place? more powerful magic could be more powerful because it is more tightly woven and less of it "leaks" away uselessly. unless the magic has the specific purpose of drawing attention to ...

Re: Key knowledge for "common" thread items

for one thing, common is relative. only a small portion of the population can even use thread items at all. and not all of those who can use thread items will have any. for another thing, while I would say that I'm certainly familiar with some of the basics of the stories regarding excalibur, if you...

Re: Elementalist and thread item

strictly speaking, the requirement is ranks in the threadweaving talents of those specific disciplines, not actually being a member of those disciplines. that's a pretty minor distinction to make, but it is *theoretically* possible for a human journeyman to pick up elementalism (or the threadweaving...

Re: Creature [spoiler for upcoming game]

i was kinda assuming he'd be using group initiative, or at least partial group initiative (put them into groups of X that will generally act similarly and use the same initiative), given the plan is 3 for each person in the group.

Re: Creature [spoiler for upcoming game]

well, looking at the red ants in travar, which occupy a fairly similar niche, you could probably even make them a little bit nastier for 1st circle critters ;) you should probably give a size and damage step for the rats when thrown... i don't know how big you intend them to be, but i'm guessing pro...

Re: ED4 Mystic Path Journeyman Knack

no. each talent knack works once per round. if you have two talents (from versatility) in a round that you would like to spend karma on, you need 2 knacks.

So I have a "hobby" of proofreading...

As the title says. Yes, I know it's a weird "hobby". (It isn't really quite a hobby; I enjoy reading RPG books, which is more the actual hobby, and I tend to notice spelling errors, missing words, and weird grammar more than the average bear (also more than the average human, I'm pretty sure). Somet...

Re: ED4 Mystic Path Journeyman Knack

the short version: each talent lets you spend karma on a single talent you learned through versatility once per round. if you have one of those knacks, you can do that once per round. if you have two knacks, twice per round. if you have all three knacks, three times per round. the more often you wan...
