Re: Creating an Earthdawn Campaign set in an Eastern setting.

Also, having a look Chōchinmochi 提灯持ち simply means having a lantern or bringing a lantern. I feel like another word needs adding there possibly Chōchinmochisha 提灯持ち者 but even that seems clumsy and literally translates as a 'person with a lantern'. A big part of translation is context as well as cont...

Re: Creating an Earthdawn Campaign set in an Eastern setting.

I would say these are all Japanese terms rather than 'oriental' with the odd one out being Wu Jen which sounds Chinese to me. If you're keeping with a Japanese theme then you may want to consider changing this to something like 魔術師 (Majutsushi) or 魔法使い (Mahōtsukai) both of which mean something along...

Re: How much of the world is known?

I'll say that as far as heavy criticism goes, in my experience almost all of that is directed at Talea and Cathay, and even then I believe that Cathay still has its share of fans. As for the known world, there is Aznan and Aruacania which are two distant lands mentioned in Vivane & Skypoint correspo...

Re: Vampires

We don't need to necessarily go down the Horror route for a Vampire. My old GM had them as Nethermantic spirits that possessed Namegivers. Worked quite well because we didn't have a clue how to combat them at first, they were strange alien spirits from the depths of Astral Space, hungry for the bloo...

Thank you for all of the great feedback, I will be looking at adjusting the draft as well as doing a playtest. :D

I have nothing to add to what's been said except I think this is a great idea ;)

Re: Knockdown during Flight and Wound Balance

I'm mostly in line with Chris -- there isn't any real gameplay benefit to changing how the talent works for one Discipline versus another. I'm also, personally, in favor of simpler interpretations of stuff over more complex ones. Getting into a whole semantic thing over, "Is the character supportin...

Licences and Corestep

Has anyone at FASA considered creating licenced Roleplaying games using the Corestep system? Fallout is the first one that springs to my mind - I've always wondered if Earthdawn was an influence on Fallout. Would FASA consider looking at proposals for this kind of thing? I think the payoff could be ...

Re: Vampires

I created a Pattern Vampire Horror for my campaign. I ran a one off based on the Dunwich Horror and it went over quite well. It fed off of Karma and de-pattened it's victims leaving behind grisly corpses
