Re: Alchemy and the players . . .

were do we stand on PCs using poison? I saw something about windling tribes using it so I guess it's not such a big deal? Windlings uses poisons to help them bring down beast and bad guys much larger than them but they rarely use deadly poisons. They mostly use Keesra (sleep) and Whadhyra (paralyzi...

Re: I have a few questions I want to ask

I don't see any canon rule about 'taking your magic' but this is Death we are talking about here so let just assume it can do that and that he somehow have the ability to affect and modify a person's True Pattern. Such a thing as 'taking all you magic' is rather unclear so the effects would be up to...

Line of sight for casting

I would like to have your opinions (especially from any DEV) about the following issue and questions: About 'line of sight' for casting, the Player's states that: ' Any method that makes the magician certain of the target’s location allows the creation of the proper astral arc ' And then goes on giv...

Re: Old ed spells not included?

As for the 9+ Circle Spells, they are not included yet because they plan to do something about that in an upcoming 'Magic' book. The fact that they were not included in the Companion created a lot of heated discussions here. From what I understand the devs plans to create some kind of a 'rituals(?)'...

Scars and 'advanced' healing

I would like to have you opinions concerning how much scaring wounds should 'left behind' and how to heal those scars. Two examples: 1- Just finished 'Shattered Patterns' and a character managed to get Shift Skin cast on the face. Although the wounds themselves have now been healed, I would expect s...

Riposte

Headache-level question about the Talent Riposte: The description of the Talent states that it can be used to block a 'melee attack' and, if he gets an extra success, do a counter-attack. Question: Does the counter-attack of the Riposte talent counts as a 'melee attack'? In other words: would a Swor...

Re: Horror Plane?

It specifically calls out the name of the Horror being required. It never asks for the name of the plane in that or any other summoning spell I can find. Generally it's only the name of the entity you want to summon that's needed. Yeah, basically you just need the name to summon. Magic will then ta...

Re: Astral Sensing

Indeed, the books states that matter keep its properties in Astral Space. So the imprint of a non-magical wall, although looking colorless, bland and therefore 'empty', would still be opaque and will block the view from any other imprint standing behind it just as it would in the physical world. Als...

Pretty sure they do that with the Horror's name. Not the name of the plane they reside on.

Re: Horror Plane?

The 'planes' in Earthdawn are called 'Netherworlds'. They are part of Astral Space proper but they gave them this name to differentiate them from the more classic 'astral-physical continuum' of Astral Space. The Horrors are thought to come from one (or possibly several) of the Netherworlds but I don...
