Re: A New Book of Dragons
There's a magic "grab bag" book planned for after Questors (including stuff that we couldn't squeeze in to the core books, like a bunch of updated and new spells). Let me chime in just to say that I really love to read that the expanded list of spells is planned for the next supplement after Questo...

Re: Much Ado About Nothing
I am not quite sure how relevant it is to the original question, but when I made a straightforward computation how much time one needs to get to high circles I was genuinely surprised by how low the numbers were. I calculated that time in the most brutal way, i.e.: I computed how many sessions one n...

Re: Preview requests
I would be very happy to see some preview on high-tier magic: Named Spells, Ritual Magic etc., if any significant changes has been introduced to this area in 4 ed. Of course, this is irrelevant, if this wasn't really altered.

Re: Social mechanics clarification
Let me first express my sincere gratitude for the continued support of ED developers on this forum. It's great! I also was mostly confused by the fact that the only place where the influence of Attitude was mentioned was Favors chart. I assumed that this implies that Attitudes do not affect other In...

Re: Social mechanics clarification
The first sentence is key: trying to convince another to do something through various forms of persuasion. And in the last sentence, resources is very open-ended. It could mean a new sword or the promise to commit your soldiers to attacking the caravan and not the fort. Thank you for pointing this ...

Re: Social mechanics clarification
[A]s far as Attitude adjustments, the Talents Conversation, Diplomacy, and First Impression all have skill use: yes. These also seem to apply to the situations you described. They do affect Attitude. But it seems that the only thing which is directly affected by Attitude is Favor mechanics. Things ...

Re: Optional Rules for Companion
I understand that it might be too late to post it in this topic, but I recall a complaint which I read on a Polish forum devoted to ED. ED seems to need a bunch of very general rules covering rather abstract situations like: - what happens when one character helps another in an action? - to what ext...

Social mechanics clarification
I am not quite sure I managed to understand how social conflicts are exactly handled within Earthdawn. I have two specific question, one that really puzzles me and the second which seems much clearer. The first question is: how is straightforward persuasion carried over in ED? Let's say that two cou...

Re: Much Ado About Nothing
Ok. Now I think that my posts may look somewhat militant which I had no slightest intention to be the case. As a matter of fact, I also occasionally enjoy "rule-lite" games. It's just nice that the existence of Earthdawn adds this nice bit of diversity to the ecosystem in that it is so consistently ...

Re: Much Ado About Nothing
I could be missing it, but I don't believe anyone has asked "do you think it's good that there is high-level stuff in the books?" From my posts, I've asked how relevant it is. "Good" and "relevant" are very different. More content is pretty much always "good," with the exception that it means that ...
