From the journal of Mazor, windling beastmaster.
As I was traveling through the Grand Bazaar the other day, I heard a human male loudly exclaiming that his family, and a neighboring family had been kidnapped the day before, apparently by slavers. The two families had been taking the children on a long walk outside the gates of the great city, and failed to return. Witnesses had heard a commotion and seen some figures carrying the missing people away. The man was trying to raise up a posse to apprehend the assailants and rescue the families. I immediately stepped forward to volunteer, and within minutes Dalyor, Darius and Icarus had also stepped up.
It turned out that none of us were trackers, so I went and invested 50 silver coins in the purchase of a bloodhound, which we used to track the family. There was a rumor going around that the miscreants were based several days East of Throal (4710), so we planned on the chase taking several days. We were traveling through some hills, when we were challenged by a small group of Orcs. We were all tense for an encounter with bandits, but it turns out that all they wanted was to challenge one of us to a contest of skills. Darius Crawford, an expert on throwing weapons accepted their challenge to an axe throwing contest and beat them easily.
Later that day, we were ambushed by 4 trojan, 3 of which we rendered unconscious and the other was run off. I treated the wounds of the most injured, and attempted animal bonds with all three as they woke up, and am confident they will not be attacking me again soon.
On the fourth day of the chase we finally cornered the miscreants in a cave. We snuck in, and found two harpies terrorizing their captives, so we slew them.
the night after next our eagle-eyed watchmen saw two lions sneaking up upon us. We all got up, and they were unable to ambush us. We ran one off, and knocked the other out. I attempted to bond with it, but it ran off as soon as it woke up. The next day we returned to the area where I had bonded the three Trojin. I found one of them, and bonded it again, taking it with me to Throal where we sold it, that along with a reward offered by the grateful people we rescued made a very nice sum.
