Nice! I wasn't aware of this. I doubt it is a coincidence :)

the stereotypes for bannockburn are - a waterworld, gannock, o'rym (with under water cities), and lots of muster training sites. Also always the impending symbiot threat.

I'm afraid you mix up Bannockburn and Madoc there, Aurin :)
Madoc is a water world, and home to the Oro'ym with their underwater culture.
Bannockburn is, a planet of rugged and craggy highlands and broad moors. It is the homeworld of the Gannok, headquarter for the Musters' guild, and there are many Ur remains scattered about the place.

Must be a constant war camp, training grounds.... it might be a messy planet I'd say.

That's a good idea. There should be loads of labor camps filled with slaves. The Musters probably produce tons of prison-made products for the open market. Cool idea!

I'm kind of working on something like that but also with the dichotomy that they don't just deal in slaves and soldiers but all sorts of skilled workers. I'm picturing well established academies, schools and univesities for all sorts of vocations and professions existing alongside what are essentially "slave farm" villages and military proving grounds.

That sounds well in line with FS canon :) The Musters are a "human resources" guild after all!

I'll have to look when I have access to the materials; but I believe that the cannon indicates that the Muster have only recently (100-200 years) come to control the planet. I view it as politically diverse with strong regional concentrations of Muster. Economically dominated by the Symbiot war effort and mercenary companies; more so than slaving..... A key way-station for muster employees; including much of the skilled labor.

Plus large unregulated Gannock 'reserves' diverse poor minor house settlements...

The info may be in that Symbiot Isle story.....

As a "military" planet base... we can find lots of clashes between civilian and military, bribery, prostitution and the occasional man on the run.
