The problem I find with 3d terrain is that it takes much longer (& is more disruptive to the flow of a game) to set up than a 2d floor plan or drawing a map on a whiteboard. Especially as scenes/locations can change pretty quickly.
It would look epic though

Re: Miniatures
I have been coming around on the idea of Legos, to be honest. Is there a way I can order figures by the piece?

Re: Miniatures
Yup - try Firestar Toys (www.firestartoys.com/) - but LEGO can get quite a costly (even when you have a collection at home as large as my son's....)
We've used them in supers games before but I find it damages the suspension of disbelief as they will always be LEGO minifigs rather than representations of the characters. But that's me.

Re: Miniatures
You guys gave me great ideas... I'll have to find (more like dig in the old closet stuff) for my LEGO!
Hopefully my mom didn't got rid of them...

Re: Miniatures
On the other hand I'm now trying to scratch build a 28mm scale Vorox miniature out of old Star Wars miniatures, plastic animal toys and sculpting putty....

Re: Miniatures
For Vorox I would more than likely start with something like a Privateer Press Warpwolf, and add some extra arms to that.
