Medieval Barsaive?

Ah I forgot about the Sereathan Knights, was there just one order (Crimson Spire) mentioned in the books?

Perhaps the dwarves of Throal try to set up a feudalistic society with the current king portioning out land to (the Earthdawn equivalent of) barons, dukes, earls etc. It would seem a simple thing to do and of course you'd have plenty of conflict with various cities/towns/villages rebelling against the feudal system.

The primary reason they haven't is that the Houses that controlled that land before the Scourge are not the ones that are powerful now. The only winning move in that game is not to play.

If there's a vacuum of power to fill, perhaps there's an opportunity to take.
