How fast does the sparrow fly? Does the sparrow follow roads? Does the sparrow fly through buildings or brambles or walls? Does the sparrow avoid blood monkeys? Does the sparrow fly in a straight line or a spiral search pattern or a cross-hatch search pattern?

Could it carry a coconut? What is the airspeed velocity of an un-laden sparrow?
Re: [3ED] Sparrow Sings to the Sky
Sparrow got a movement of 9. All other info is in description and that's why it bothers me. To me it just flies to recipent but maybe you need a True Name for that?

Oh, yeah. That spell has some problems. Direction Sense allows you to find objects in addition to people and you do not need to know their Name, however you are probably supposed to have some item related to the target, but only Direction Arrow actually requires this. Direction Sense only requires the adept to focus their thoughts on the object linked to whatever they are trying to find, not actually hold it.
Send Message is a circle lower (two instead of three) and requires line of sight, so it almost certainly has a lower range. It also doesn't require you to know the target's Name and is significantly more clandestine than a glowing bird singing to someone in public, interrupting whatever they are doing.
The movement of the sparrow is also higher than most characters are likely to have. However, the range of the sparrow is pretty ambiguous since it gives a movement rate (probably flying at top speed) and a duration. Which requires some math to figure out how far it can travel and guessing if the target is within this range. It will certainly give you a direction of the target and it's not unreasonable for someone to be able to keep a glowing bird in their vision while the follow behind. There's nothing to stop the Illusionist from following it until they lose the bird or the duration runs out. Then recasting the spell and repeating the process. The message would probably be something like "I got you, jerk face!"
So, yes, you have some very valid concerns about this spell and how it can be abused in ways which it certainly wasn't intended and end up even more powerful than a pretty decent talent - as long as you have a Name.

Earthdawn Developer and I have a gaming , though, let's face it, it is really an Earthdawn blog which also happens to have some reviews.

I will just stick with having True Name for purposes of sending message which will avoid abusing it to find enemies
