Re: ED4 Design: Airships, Riverboats, and More
While you're "editing together the Crew attribute description", perhaps you should also decide what to do in case of a Captain who doesn't have the minimum skill rank listed, because let's face it, for sure one day, one of the PC will try to do it. Should it be absolutely impossible to man...

Re: ED4 Design: Airships, Riverboats, and More
Seems nice to me, for the moment. Apart from this specific part: Every 20 duari a ship carries above its maximum Cargo rating reduces the ship’s Speed step by –1 I understand that this is made for simple calculations, but isn't it way too unrealistic ? What I mean is, it doesn't scale at all with th...

Re: ED4 Design: Airships, Riverboats, and More
Ship Damage output and Armor/Health Ratings will be 'normalized' to fit alongside Adepts and Creatures. The new Success mechanic will drive play in combat, pursuit, and travel. Named Characters (PC and the GM's primary NPCs) will be front and center, using their Talent and Skill ranks when making r...

Re: Airship Weapons
The way some ships are described, especially the galleon, just scream age-of-sail, though, as they are triple-masted boats with multiple decks (and even the images... just check the 3rd Edition about Airships, the drawing on page 58 or 71 is pretty clear...). Biggest ships on the Greek/Roman age wou...

Re: Airship Weapons
As for the number of cannons on ships, the number you find by using the damage code is extremely low. Around 10-15 on a behemoth ? Even if you consider it's only for one of the 4 sides of the stone castle, that's still a joke. 40-60 cannons total on a "hundreds of yards long" castle ? :lol...

Re: Airship Weapons
For firepower, we'd need a system which does 3 things, in my opinion: - easy to use when multiple ships are in the combat, so only one roll for the damage - but, we need to be able to get PC to man one of the weapon, and change the impact it will have on the damage - and mostly, we need a system whi...

Re: Airship Weapons
It depends what you call "powers ship".
Do you mean for going forward ? If yes, iirc, depending on the ship, we have a combination of sails and/or oars, or pure magic for the kila / behemoth.
If you meant the levitating part, it's True Air woven into the hull.

Re: Airship Weapons
The way we usually do it in our game, is putting the 2 kinds of damage on a different scale. Airship damage is 5 times greater than Character damage. So if a ship hit a ship, normal damage. If a ship hits a character, multiply damage by 5 (yeah that's deadly, but that's what it's supposed to be...),...

Re: Fourth Edition Player's Guide Errata and FAQ
Not sure if it's an error or not, but on page 107, the Swordmaster, at 8th circle, gets +2 to his Physical Defense. All the other disciplines get a +3 to a Defense instead. Should the bonus to Swordmaster be a +3 too ? Or is there a reason he only gets 2 ?

Re: [ED4] Ritual spells and additionnal threads
Its a 5 circle spell so it lasts at least 5 weeks (Spellcasting rank), plus extra threads (2 at 5 circle, +2 weeks per thread), and succcess levels its almost sure that even for a 5 circle magician its gonna be 10 weeks Unless the magician is using the spell on his own weapon, I highly doubt he's g...
